Get away from it all when you stay on this lovely half-acre site. Short drive to River Road Plantations: Whitney, Laura, Oak Alley, etc.
Hi, I'm Elizabeth, your host. I live up front of the property, but the fenced half-acre backyard is completely yours to explore. Very private. Very quiet. Enjoy the ducks and chickens as they free range.
With the help of friends and professionals I renovated the cottage using recycled materials and new appliances.
The property has privacy fencing all around with an automated gate. Visitors have off-street parking 10 ft. from the cottage front door.
Enjoy the beautiful trees and seasonal flowers in the back yard. Take your coffee near the duck pond and feed the chickens if you'd like. Fresh eggs daily when the birds are laying :-)

Summary: Wonderful space! Elizabeth is very attentive if you need anything, but gives guests their space. Many thoughtful details (soaps, towels, games, TV subscriptions, fresh eggs, coffee, drawing supplies, treats to feed the chickens and cat, etc...). There is a composting toilet (not a downside, just something to be aware of).The upstairs/bedroom is much bigger than I expected.I stayed by myself and felt safe - driveway is gated and the cabin is all the way to the back. The entire backyard is private and all yours- I took several walks around the yard and enjoyed feeding the chickens and sitting on the covered patio in the rain. I can't say much about the nearby attractions, as I came for some solo writing/art time, so I didn't leave the house much. It was very quiet and perfect for a place to hibernate for a weekend.
